Customer companies and contacts (for agencies)

For staffing agencies — manage client companies and their contacts.

Who needs this

Customer Companies in CVViZ are for staffing / recruitment agencies that place candidates into client companies. If your workspace is configured as an agency (company_type === 'S'), you'll see Customer-related fields and pages.

If you're an in-house recruiting team hiring for your own company, you don't need this section — your jobs are for your own org.

Two places to manage

  • Settings → Customers at /settings/customers — quick view focused on the customer-as-team-access concept (default flag, primary contact).
  • Companies workspace at /companies/customers — fuller management with detailed company metadata, location, manager assignments.

Settings → Customers list

Each row shows:

  • Company Name.
  • Contact Person.
  • Email.
  • Default —; a checkmark when this is your default customer.

Full customer record (Companies workspace)

The fuller form at the Customers workspace captures:

  • name — primary contact's first / last name.
  • email — primary contact's email.
  • company — customer company name.
  • companyDesc — short description.
  • customer_type — dropdown: Customer, Prospect, Former Customer.
  • industry, company_size, revenue, linkedin.
  • primary_manager, secondary_manager — assigned CVViZ users.
  • is_default — boolean.
  • Location: address, city, state, country, zip.
  • currency_code.
  • external_reference_id — link to your finance / CRM system.

Customer types

The field lets you triage your client list:

  • Customer — active client.
  • Prospect — in-pipeline; not a paying client yet.
  • Former Customer — historic; archived for reporting.

Linking jobs to a customer

When creating a job (in agency workspaces), the Customer field on the Details tab is required. Pick the end client; you can add a new customer inline from that field as well.

Customer contacts

The Settings → Customers list shows one contact (the primary). The fuller management interface in the Companies workspace lets you handle multiple contacts per customer for stakeholder management.

Customer portal

Customer-side portal access depends on inviting customer contacts as Hiring Team members with appropriate roles — the same flow as Vendors. Customers only see candidates you've submitted to them.

Tips

  • Use Prospect for the sales pipeline, then flip to Customer on contract sign.
  • Capture linking back to your CRM / finance system for clean reconciliation.
  • Assign primary and secondary managers for redundancy on key accounts.
